KinderCaminata, March 2024
The History Department participated in this wonderful event, again providing children a space to draw a "cave painting" and add it to the cave. We brought back the "cave tunnel" and had a blast!
Triangle Shirtwaist Fire Memorial, March 2023
The History Department honored the victims of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire by, in part, reading the names of the women, girls, and men who lost their lives and by laying a yellow carnation for each name read. We also learned about the Unite Here! Local 11 fight for hotel worker rights throughout Orange County and much of Southern California - similar rights that workers fought for after the tragedy of the Triangle fire.

"Helping Women Thrive. Period." Feminine Product Drive March 2022
For Women's History Month the History Department teamed up with Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Fainbarg Chase Thrive Center to collect feminine products, which we later donated to the Thrive Center for students in need. Over 200 grab bags of products were delivered!

We recorded our fall 2021 open house - with special guest Dr. Choi Chatterjee, History Department Chair at Cal State LA. Unfortunately the speaker window didn't record! However, we do have the slides and content - enjoy!

Pandemic Panel 2020
Watch the History Department, along with Dr. Rebecca Vásquez Ortiz from the Psychology Department and Dr. Jill Kapil from the Health and Wellness Center, recorded on Tuesday, 10/27/2020, for a history and mental health panel focused on pandemics, past and present.
