What is the HiSET/GED Equivalency Certificate?

The High School Equivalency Certificate is a state-recognized alternative to a high school diploma. You earn the certificate by passing either the GED or HiSET exams. Passing either exam is equal to a high school diploma. This is according to the California State Board of Education. The certificate is recognized even outside of California.

Anyone 18 and older. These classes help you prepare for the HiSET or GED exam and earn your high school equivalency. Whether you are starting your education journey or returning these classes are for you.

Yes, 100% tuition-free. Textbooks are provided in class. If you're taking the class online, all course materials are built into Canvas.

After you register, your teacher will contact you with two ways to join your online class:

Option 1: Click the Zoom link your teacher emails you

Option 2: Access your class through Canvas

Both work from your computer, tablet, or phone.

Check your email for details from your teacher before your class starts.

You can email your teacher any time. When you register, you'll receive their contact information. If you're taking an online class, you can also message your teacher directly in Canvas.

Some teachers use other ways to stay in touch too! They'll let you know on the first day of class.
