HSOTH 740 - Spanish 1

Provides English-speaking students with a beginning course in Spanish. You will learn oral communication, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar.

HSOTH 742 - Spanish 2

Provides English-speaking students with more Spanish skills. Learn concepts, grammar, and vocabulary for a first-year course in learning to speak and write Spanish.

HSOTH 743 - Spanish 3

Builds on the language taught in Spanish 2. Focus on the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. You will elaborate on ideas and ask and answer questions. Understand texts and generate responses, and have more complex interactions. Study the cultural products, practices, and perspectives of Spanish-speaking Countries.

Anyone 18 and older can register. These classes prepare you for college-level coursework and help you build important skills to succeed.

Under 18 and want to take classes? You can enroll with special permission. Contact Admissions & Records at 714-564-6059 for more information.

Yes, completely free to California residents. Online students access all course materials through Canvas, and in-person students can use textbooks in class.

After you register, your teacher will contact you with two ways to join your online class:

Option 1: Click the Zoom link your teacher emails you

Option 2: Access your class through Canvas

Both work from your computer, tablet, or phone.

Check your email for details from your teacher before your class starts.

You can email your teacher any time. When you register, you'll receive their contact information. If you're taking an online class, you can also message your teacher directly in Canvas.

Some teachers use other ways to stay in touch too! They'll let you know on the first day of class.
