
These Theatre Arts courses prepare students to transfer to Santa Ana College and pursue
opportunities in performance or technical theatre. Students build a strong foundation
in acting, voice, movement, and stage presence while gaining an understanding of how
live and filmed productions come together.
Through hands-on experience, students develop technical skills for backstage and production
work, along with on-camera and audition techniques. The program also emphasizes communication,
teamwork, and workplace readiness, helping students succeed in a wide range of theatre
and entertainment settings.
Students must pass all of the following courses:

VFPA 150A: Rehearsal and Performance in Production

VFPA 150B: Technical Theatre in Production

VFPA 152: Tour Ensemble

VFPA 255: Motion Picture Performance Production
Students must also pass one of the following courses:
- VBUS 400: Employability Skills (VBUS400)
- ESL 520: English for Work 2
If you pass VFPA 150A, 150B, 152, and 255 with a grade of B or higher, you can earn
credit for THEA 150 A, 150B, 152, and 255 through the credit-by-exam process. Credits
from VFPA 150A, 150B, 152, and 255 can count towards a theatre certificate or degree
at Santa Ana College.
There is no tuition cost for VFPA 150A, 150B, 152, and 255.
