Message from the Dean

photo of eve kikawaThe Fine and Performing Arts Division comprises eight departments: Art/Photography, Communications and Media Studies, Communication Studies, Dance, Music, Nealley Library, Television/Video, and Theatre Arts. Faculty members excel in teaching and making significant contributions to their professional and academic fields. Students benefit from the experience brought to the instructional programs by award-winning directors and choreographers in dance and theatre; visual artists whose work is shown nationally and internationally; composers of piano and choral contemporary works performed throughout California; and professional broadcast journalists and production specialists in TV/Video.

The el Don newspaper is ranked #1 among college newspapers nationwide. Our dynamic communication studies faculty reshapes the student experience of public speaking. There is a long history of success among our students, whether the goal is degree completion, transfer to a 4-year university, or job training for a career. We foster creativity, academic excellence, and practical application of learning in a student-centered atmosphere. Join us. Your success is our success.
