The Santa Ana College Department of Communications and Media Studies is a national leader in collegiate student media. The curriculum blends strong academics with journalism training that prepares students for the demands of a career in professional media.

From the initial class until the end of the term, student reporters interact with the SAC community, citizens, and civic leaders of Santa Ana, Orange County, the state, and the nation. Our students often interview senators, members of Congress, civic and political leaders, and professionals from the world of entertainment, sports, and media during the course of working for one of our news outlets.

Our students routinely win national and international honors for their media skills. These include awards for writing, reporting, design, photography, emerging media and management.

For more information -- or for a one-on-one educational counseling session -- email Associate Professor Sarah Bennett, department chair.
