Valinda Tivenan
Valinda Tivenan joined the faculty of the SAC theatre department in 1995 and has become an influential leader in both curriculum and program developments to creatively assist SAC theatre students reach their educational goals. Her enthusiasm for what she does never wanes, constantly finding inspiration in both the creative process and collaborative nature characteristic in the "art" of theatre. She has always had a special interest in designing stage scenery, and has designed over 40 theatre and dance departmental productions. She was one of the developers of the SAC Entertainment Lighting Technology Certificate where students are trained in the use of contemporary stage lighting technologies, a curriculum which can be found only in a few colleges nationwide. Valinda is always seeking more effective methods and processes to educate students and make them ready for the next phase in their lives when they leave Santa Ana College.
