Counseling Services
The Assessment Center offers counseling services for the following groups of students:
- K-12 Dual Enrollment Students
- Continuing Education (SB554) Dual Enrollment Students
- Continuing Education Students Transitioning to College Students
The Assessment Center also hosts the Registration and Academic Advising Workshops for new college students and students who are returning to college.
K-12 Students
As a K-12th Grade student, you can take classes at Santa Ana College through the Dual Enrollment Program. To learn more, please visit the Dual Enrollment Website or call them at (714) 564-6931.
If you need assistance with figuring out what classes to take, you can schedule an appointment with one of our Dual Enrollment Counselors. Please call us at (714)564-6148 to schedule you an appointment.
*Due to FERPA, we cannot give parents any information about a student's account, but we are happy to answer general questions about Dual Enrollment.

- To make an appointment with a counselor, student will need their 7-digit SAC ID number.
- Dual Enrollment students are not allowed to self-register through Self-Service.
- Students from K- 8th grade must contact the Dual Enrollment Office to learn about the registration process.
- Student will need approval from the appropriate Academic Division Dean.
- High School students (9th-12th grade) must create a SAC.DualEnroll.com profile to complete the registration process.
- For assistance with creating the profile or troubleshooting, please call the Dual Enrollment Office at (714)564-6931.
- Dual enrollment students must meet with the Dual Enrollment Counselor at the Assessment Center and not with a counselor at the Counseling Center.
- Students seeking a prerequisite course waiver must upload their high school transcript
and any AP examination scores to their sac.dualenroll.com profile. A Dual Enrollment counselor will review the submitted documentation and
provide notification regarding the outcome.
- Students who need a waiver for Calculus 2 and above will need to provide the counselor with their AP Calculus Score and High School Transcript.
- Please see the following units caps for each semester:
- CCAP Students (From partner Schools): 15 units for Fall/Spring
- Fall/Spring: Less than 12 Units
- Summer: 9 Units
- Winter: 6 Units
- If a student enrolls in more than the allowed units, they will be responsible for paying all fess, not just the additional units amount exceeded.
- To avoid any delays, it is recommended students start the enrollment process before their registration date.
- If a student wants to take classes at Santiago Canyon College, the student must go through their Dual Enrollment process, as the process is separate from Santa Ana College.
- Once a student has graduated from high school, they are no longer considered a dual enrollment student.
Adult Dual Enrollment Students
The Adult Dual Enrollment Program allows eligible Santa Ana College (SAC) School of Continuing Education students to earn free college credit while completing a
School of Continuing Education High School Program.

Once the student has completed the first two steps to get into the Adult Dual Enrollment (SB554) Program, the student can call the Assessment Center to meet with our dual enrollment counselors.
- Dual Enrollment students are not allowed to self-register through Self-Service.
- All dual enrollment students who want to meet with a college counselor must meet with a counselor at the Assessment Center and not at General Counseling.
- To make an appointment with a counselor, student will need their 7-digit SAC ID number.

- Fall/Spring: Less than 12 Units
- Summer: 9 Units
- Winter: 6 Units
- If a student takes more than the allowed units, they will be responsible for paying all fees, not just the unit amount they go over.
- Adult Dual Enrollment (SB554) students must meet regularly with their School of Continuing Education counselor to ensure that they are still eligible to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program.
- Adult Dual Enrollment (SB 554) student must be actively enrolled in their high school classes, to participate in the dual enrollment program.
Continuing Education Students Transitioning to College Students
Our transitions counseling services are designed for new students ready to fully transition from Continuing Education (Non-Credit) to Santa Ana College (Credit). Our counselor can assist you with creating an educational plan and connecting you with programs/resources on campus.

About the Workshop
The Registration & Academic Advising Workshop is designed for new students to college and students returning to college after a long break.
In this workshop you will:
- Learn important information regarding college (cost, policies, etc...)
- Meet with a counselor to develop a 2 semester ed-plan
- Learn to navigate self-service
- Get registered for courses with assistance from staff
Before you attend the Registration Workshop, students should complete the Santa Ana College New Student Online Orientation. The New Student Orientation can be found in Self-Service under the Academics menu.
*If you are a student with 20 or more units, needing a prerequisite waiver, or have a different home campus, please contact the General Counseling Office at (714) 564-6103 or visit their office in S-112.
