Overview​
This program prepares you for transition to Santa Ana College's Biotechnology Lab Assistant Certificate Program. After you complete the courses below along with the required courses at Santa Ana College, you will have a fundamental overview of the application and underlying principles of biotechnology and know how to operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment.​

Job Outlook​
​Average California Salary for a ​Laboratory Technician is $58,120
*The above wage is for those that possess at least an Associates Degree.​


Course Requirements
Students must pass the following THREE courses:
Introduction to Biotechnology (VHLTH704)
​Introductory Biotech Lab (VHLTH705)
Math for College and Career Readiness (HSMTH190)
You must first meet with a counselor before enrolling in HSMTH 190.

Students must pass ONE of the following courses:
​Employability Skills (VBUS400)
English for Work 2 (ESL520)


Participation Requirements
  • Students must meet with the Continuing Education Counseling Department before enrollment in this program.  ​
