Our core English Language program has seven​ levels. Can you read, write, and pronounce most of the information in the levels below?

Beginning Low​
Example:

​Be​ginning High
Example:
​My name is Elizabeth Hong. I am married, and I have children. I like cooking, and I enjoy learning English when I have time, too.

​Intermediate Low​​
Example:
I lived in Vietnam before but now I live in Santa Ana, California. I have been working part-time at a restaurant so far, and I love my job very much, but I need more income. So, I am learning more English that may be required for a new full-time job in the near future. ​

Intermediate High​
Example:
I work a lot of hours in my job now, so it is difficult to study English by myself since I don’t have a lot of time. I am hoping to take an online ESL class in the near future if it is offered after I finish my work on weekdays. Then I can have more time for my family and myself, right? ​​


​Advanced Low
Example:
I wish I had studied more English in college years ago because the more I study a new language, the more I will know how to use it effectively. I would like to have passed the next level Advanced High by next semester since my goal is to g​o back to college for a degree.   ​

​Advanced High​
Example:
As Continuing Education students, you can prepare to enroll in different types of noncredit programs such ESL, Career Education, or Adult Secondary Educa​​​​​​​tion to upgrade your professional skills and continue lifelong learning. If you plan to take noncredit courses soon, please contact the SCE counseling department to start your education plan to help you accomplish your lifelong learning goals. ​​​​​​
