Who:
Verónica Preciado
Verónica Preciado is a multidisciplinary Xicanx artist based in California's Inland Empire. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of California Irvine having studied art, engineering, and medical humanities. Primarily using metal fabrication, Verónica's interactive sculptural installations focus on the Xicanx community and issues of social justice. Utilizing welding, metal shrinking/stretching, and hand forming techniques, Verónica takes flat sheet metal and creates detailed works of art. She strikes a balance between symbolism, steel's industrial nature and a sense of delicacy. Layers of symbols: color, design, and installation are used to reference the vibrancy of the Xicanx culture and create a narrative within each piece.

Rosy Cortez
Rosy Cortez is a first-generation Mexican-American fine artist and muralist from Riverside, California. Her artwork is rooted in feminine and cultural identities while reflecting her love for family and the natural environment. Her murals are often community-engaged, incorporating public input as well as imagery of surrounding native flora and fauna, with the intention of instilling pride, education, and interaction. Her fine art oil paintings, meanwhile, feature emotionally charged, introspective visual metaphors that reflect cultural identity. The storytelling carries a distinctly feminine touch while leaning into melancholia, often depicted through quiet, solemn figures surrounding domestic spaces. Rosy earned her BFA in Figurative Painting from Cal State Long Beach and worked as a product photographer before taking a leap of faith to pursue painting full-time.

Yulissa Mendoza
Yulissa Mendoza was born in 1997 in San Bernardino, CA and lived a majority of their formative years in the unincorporated area of Muscoy, CA. They are a portrait photographer and multimedia installation artist. They use photography and installation as a means of archiving and honoring their families land, traditions, and upbringings while creating romanticized worlds and pieces that would suit and welcome the person that they are today. They use this as their building block in order to amplify voices, empower marginalized communities, and carve space for those often overlooked. They aim to rebuke rigid, old gender roles while honoring cultures and pushing the boundaries of fashion and culture. They graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in Cultural Anthropology. They have been exhibited in the Blue Rose Gallery, The Artlands, The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture, and The Little Gallery of San Bernardino.
