Santa Ana College Faculty Chamber Music Recital to Benefit Steinway Campaign

Tables are turned at April 17 Recital Featuring Faculty, not Students

(Santa Ana) - Santa Ana College (SAC) will host a Faculty Chamber Music Recital and pre-concert reception Thursday, April 17 to benefit the Steinway Campaign, a joint venture between the SAC Music Department and the SAC Foundation to purchase the college’s first Steinway grand piano.

The pre-concert champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception begins at 5 p.m. in the Phillips Hall Patio, followed by the concert at 6 p.m. in Phillips Hall Theatre, 1530 W. 17th St. in Santa Ana. General admission is $50 per ticket, or $80 for two tickets, which includes the reception and concert. VIP seating and special recognition are available for donations above $100; student tickets, which only include the concert, are $20 for non-SAC students; SAC students pay $9.99.

Proceeds benefit the Friends of Music Steinway Campaign which was launched in April 2013 to purchase a Steinway, Model D grand piano for Santa Ana College in time for its 100th anniversary in 2015. The goal is to raise $130,000.00, the approximate cost of the piano.

“Having an instrument of this caliber gives our students a competitive edge,” said Fine and Performing Arts Dean Eve Kikawa. “It will help showcase our alumni, faculty, and visiting artists, as well.”

The recital will feature ten SAC Fine and Performing Arts faculty members:

From Glendale             Sarkis and Insook Beltaian
From Fullerton             Alison Edwards
From Santa Ana          Jungwon Jin
From Anaheim             Elliott Jones
From Long Beach        Brian Kehlenbach
From Anaheim             David A. Lopez
From Lakewood           David F. Lopez
