​Carrie Woodson

Photo of Carrie WoodsonCarrie Woodson earned her B.A. in Dance from CSU Fullerton and a M.A. in Dance from CSU Long Beach. She has a vocational education credential in visual and performing arts, and completed the teacher training program with Ballet Magnificat, certified in Progressive Ballet Technique. Her performance credits include Disneyland Resort, Glory of Christmas and Easter Productions, and His Grace Dance Ministry. She has toured internationally with CSU Fullerton’s Dance Repertory Theatre and with His Grace Dance Ministry. Carrie’s modern dance influence comes from master teachers, Robin Johnson (Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company), Colin Connor (Jose Limon Dance Company), Sharon Kinney (Paul Taylor Dance Company), Susan McLain (Martha Graham Dance Company), and Loretta Livingston (Loretta Livingston and Dancers, Bella Lewitzky). She has also trained with Christine Baltes of Jazz Spectrum, Linda Amaral, Barbara Arms, and Beth Eisleben.

Over the last 30 years, Carrie has been dancing, teaching, directing, choreographing, and producing artistic work for public, private schools, and studio venues. She serves as adjunct faculty at Santiago Canyon College, teaching dance history, ballet, modern and jazz dance, and will be joining the dance department at Santa Ana College, teaching ballet. She is on faculty at Dance for Joy Ministries​, teaching ballet, modern, jazz, dance conditioning, and worship dance and has also taught for Stagelight Performing Arts and Dance Arts of Orange County.

Carrie is an advocate for fitness and dance serving as VP of Dance for CAHPERD (California Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) from 2017-2019. In addition, Carrie will serve as the director of Dance and Movement Workshop for Educators​ in 2023, which is held at Chapman University. She served on the CSET subject matter advisory panel for dance credentialing in Sacramento. Her passion encompasses her love for movement in ballet, modern, jazz, and worship dance, and sharing her experiences with her students.
