More than one-third of Orange County is Black or Brown, but you might not know it by looking at local government. Hear from African American women who broke barriers to become the first council members, mayors and judges in Orange County! They will visit campus to share their journey, give advice and discuss their experiences as Black women in politics and law through a curated Q&A. The need for representation in local and state politics has never been greater. Come grab free lunch and listen to these inspiring local leaders and learn how you can get involved.
Featuring Council Member Rhonda Bolton of Huntington Beach, Mayor Pro Tem Letitia Clark of Tustin, and the Honorable Judge Karen L. Robinson of the Orange County Superior Court. Lunch catered by Santa Ana College Culinary Arts faculty and business owner Jimmy Birmingham of Luscious Jimmy’s Catering.
