Sign Language Education Certificate

In the early 1980s and for many years Santa Ana College offered a rare training program called the Sign Language Education  certificate.  It was geared toward training individuals to be entry level sign language interpreters.  The profession of sign language interpreting has made significant changes since the 1980s and it was determined recently that the certificate  no longer met the growing demands of the profession of interpreting and was therefore amended to be what it is now (effective Fall 2008) - the American Sign Language certificate
