Standing in Solidarity and Protection of our AAPI Community
On March 03, 2021 the Rancho Santiago Community College District shared a statement standing in solidarity with Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities in condemning any and all acts of hate, violence, and discrimination.
Standing in Solidarity and Protection of our AAPI Community
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to plague our nation, numerous reports and documented cases are on the rise related to racial discrimination and scapegoating of our Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community, which has been repeatedly targeted and wrongfully attacked. At Rancho Santiago Community College District, we take pride in building and enhancing a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Each of our sites and campuses at Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College supports our esteemed AAPI colleagues (faculty/staff) and beloved students in condemning any kind of discrimination and violence. Together, we stand up for our AAPI community to uplift, serve, and provide much-needed resources and services that assist everyone within the community.
We uphold a "Zero Tolerance" policy against violence and discrimination of any kind bearing in mind that your safety is priority. If you see something, say something. We must not take any incidents of discrimination or demonizing of any race or group lightly, so we implore everyone to do our part and ensure that our learning environments are safe and inclusive onsite and online for all. Students, employees and community members can visit
www.rsccd.edu/report to submit information on any incidents and/or complaints that may violate Title IX or discrimination, harassment and retaliation policies. What affects one community, affects us all. Join us in our efforts to support the AAPI community against violence and discrimination. We are all in this together.
We are All in this Together!
