California Chemistry Diagnostic Test
The California Chemistry Diagnostic Test is available for students who wish to enroll in Chemistry 210 (General, Organic and Biochemistry) and/or 219 (General Chemistry) and need to bypass the prerequisite of Chemistry 209 (Introductory Chemistry).
The California Chemistry Diagnostic Test is administered on Mondays at 12:00 PM on a drop-in basis.
What to Bring & Where to Check In:
Bring your photo identification (SAC Student ID, driver license, passport, etc.)
Please park in any of the unmarked parking spots (do not park in the following areas: reserved, loading zones or 30-minute parking, any spots labeled for staff, deans or has a name on it)
If you are not a SAC student, purchase a day parking pass at any of the parking kiosk stations, these are located throughout the parking lots.
Please note the campus safety does monitor the parking lots and will issue parking citations for any vehicles without a parking pass.
Please do not bring any materials to the test. A basic calculator and a periodic table will be provided to you during your exam.
Check in with the Assessment Center staff in L-223 (Building L, Room 223).
Chemistry Placement Test Information:
- 44 multiple choice questions
- 45 - minute time limit
- Basic calculator, periodic table, and scratch paper will be provided by the Assessment Center
- Students are allowed to re-test after 6 months of taking the test
- SAC does not accept Chemistry Placement results from other colleges
- Test results are valid for 5 years
