SAC Social Media Guidelines
Santa Ana College invites programs to utilize the official Santa Ana College social media channels to communicate with the community. Programs are encouraged to create visual content to complement their messages using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva. If support
is needed in creating content, the Digital Media Specialist or the
district's Communications team is available for
Requests to share content and promotional materials must be made on the
Santa Ana College social media request form. Requests must be submitted at least 7-10 business days prior to the desired publishing date. Public Affairs reserves the right to determine whether the requested post conforms with SAC's social media guidelines and aligns with SAC's marketing strategy.
Content must fit the following dimensions, depending on platform:
Image size must not exceed 2 MB.
Image quality must be clear enough to render properly on social media without blemish.
Text can be included on the image, but total character count must NOT exceed 150 characters.
If text is on the image, the color of the text and the background image must meet the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1. Ratio can be checked at WebAim.
Image used on the graphic must be royalty-free and not under copyright/licensing restrictions.
The Santa Ana College logo or the name “Santa Ana College" must be included in the graphic.
Information on the graphic must be accurate.
Information in content is relevant to the entire student body.
If the content includes a link, the link must be functioning and not leading the audience to a broken website.
Messages must meet the following guidelines:
Text is at maximum 280 characters long
Message is relevant to the entire student body
The information in the message is correct
All links are functioning and do not lead the audience to a broken website
