SAC Students,
Welcome to Santa Ana College! We are glad you have decided to start or continue your education with us and are looking forward to assisting you in all ways possible.
The current reality is that in recent days we have seen discouraging data regarding a spike in positive coronavirus cases and we are seeing unfortunate indications that the number of fatalities is on a similar trend. Our top priority, at all times, is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by providing a safe and healthy environment for faculty, staff, and students. Therefore, Santa Ana College has made the decision that the fall 2020 semester will be mostly online, with some essential labs and essential career technical education courses to be conducted in-person and on campus following the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
While this action presents challenges to our learning environment, it is the right step to take in the face of this prolonged pandemic. In continuing to offer online/remote instruction and support services, we will be doing our part to provide you with as many options and opportunities to access instructional and support services. Please know that we are still here for you.
Please be advised of the following:
SAC classes are being taught using a variety of methods. We recognize that students need options. Please make sure you log in to WebAdvisor to learn about the modality of instruction for the courses you are enrolled in as they may have changed. Please view the SAC Fall Class and Instruction Methods web page for detailed descriptions.
SAC has identified a few essential courses that cannot be delivered online/remotely. The SAC Fall 2020 Class Schedule will reflect if the class is online/remote or on-campus/in-person. The class schedule will continue to be updated.
We encourage you to contact SAC Counseling online via live chat or email for academic guidance, clarification on the various instructional methods and to develop or update your educational plan.
We will continue to provide online resources covering many of our support services including student technical support and our Digital Dons laptop loan assistance through our Student Help Desk. In addition, we will have a small presence of support services available on-campus, including Admission and Records, Financial Aid, Health and Wellness Center and access to Computer space. These offices will have limited hours and require an appointment for on campus access. Visit the Online Resources web page for more details. Information is being updated daily.
Most importantly, we are excited that you made the decision to join our community of learners. Whether you join us as a recent high school graduate or a working professional, we welcome you. We have a variety of career and academic pathways available at Santa Ana College. We are here to help you clarify your path of study, enter your path by enrolling in the right classes, stay on your path through completion, and ensure you are learning along the way!
We invite you to get a head start in your college experience by joining us at our 2020 Student Success at College Conference (SAC) Days on Monday, August 17, 2020. SAC Days is a half-day conference for students consisting of a variety of workshops to choose from, including Financial Aid, being an effective college student, success in math & English, careers, time management, honors program, etc. Please sign up for SAC Days now!
As always, Santa Ana College is grateful for your flexibility and patience as we navigate this unprecedented crisis. We are a resilient community and I know we will come through this as a stronger college.
