Emergency Medical Technician Duties & Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities:
EMT's have a wide range of careers to choose from but they are mostly associated with specially designed ambulances. EMT's also work in hospitals, especially the Emergency Room.
They provide immediate life or limb saving medical treatment at the scenes of accidents and injuries as well as transport casualties to hospital emergency rooms for further care. The job is both physically demanding and stressfull.
The EMT provides the care necessary to preserve life and to prevent disability among the acutely ill, the seriously injured and assist and communicate with other healthcare providers with a higher scope of practice.
