Child Development Permit Events
Earn your first teaching credential at Santa Ana College
These workshops will cover the Child Development Permit levels (for infant, toddler, preschool, and school age permits), specific education & experience requirements, and the application/funding process. The Child Development permit is issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
Early Childhood Education and Child Development Majors
This authorizes individuals to work with children in care, development, and instruction within a child care and development program. It verifies that the holder has met the requirements established by the CTC for assisting, teaching, or supervising in a child development program. The permit is required by Title 5 programs - including state funded programs (school districts) and federally funded programs (head start).
Elementary Education Studies Majors: School Age Emphasis Authorization
This authorizes you to provide all services authorized by your Child Development Permit and to provide services in the care, development, and instruction of children in before-school, after-school, and other school-age child care programs including Expanded Learning programs.

Permit Application Review & Professional Growth Advising
These workshops offer the opportunity to meet with a Professional Growth Advisor to get an Early Childhood Education permit application reviewed. Professional Growth Advisors can also help you develop goals.
Requirements: Must have attended an ECE Permit Party, AND need review for completed permit application, OR
needs to develop goals with a Professional Growth Advisor for renewal/upgrade.
