Professor Jinhee Trone graduated from California State University of Los Angeles with a bachelors degree in business
administration and accounting.
 
Professor Trone's career began at Ernst & Young, LLP (Los Angeles) where she worked in both audit and tax. She was promoted to Audit Manager in 1994. During her seven (7) years at Ernst & Young, LLP, she worked with many different types of industry, including many companies with SEC reporting requirements. Some of those industries included health & fitness, music recording, television animation, health care, investment banking, manufacturing and merchandising.  Prior to teaching, Professor Trone also worked in the Irvine offices of Ernst and Young, LLP & ran her own financial consulting practice. 
 
Professor Trone is a Certified Public Accountant and has been teaching financial and managerial accounting and individual income taxes since 1997.
 
She is an author of Fundamentals of Taxation (McGraw Hill), a member of the California Society of CPA's and the American Accounting Society.
 
She loves traveling, skiing, hiking, reading (anything!), movies, dogs and spending time with her husband and her two children.
 
 

Earl Mitchell

Professor Earl Mitchell has a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University at Los Angeles, an

M.B.A. with emphasis in Accounting and Finance from the University of Illinois, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of La Verne.

He is a former CPA who licensed by the State of California. He worked six years for Price Waterhouse & Company with diverse industry experience in Audit Tax, and consulting assignments. After public accounting, he served for twenty-four years in private industry as Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer of various companies. Since then he has served for fifteen years with the Rancho Santiago Community College District as the Director of Financial and Administrative Services, Assistant Dean and Dean of Business, and Professor of Accounting, Business, Financial, and Tax..

Professor Earl Mitchell has taught college and university accounting and business courses for over twenty years, at Cal State Fullerton, University of California at Irvine, Golden West College, Santiago Canyon College, and Santa Ana College. His professional memberships include the ACCCA (Association of California Community College Administrators),
AICPA, the California Society of CPAs, the National Association of Business Educators,
and 100 Black Men of Orange County Inc.

Dr. Mitchell enjoys reading, sports, music, live theater, and spending time with his lovely wife Sandra, who teaches for  Santa Ana Unified School District.

 

Sheila Shain

Professor Sheila Shain has been a member of the faculty at Santa Ana College since 2006.

She earned a B.S. in Accounting from Northern Arizona University, and a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Nevada.

Prior to joinging Santa Ana College, she taught at Saint Mary's College of California. She spent most of her early career in public accounting, beginning with Touche Ross in Phoenix, and eventually opening her own CPA practice in Las Vegas. She has also worked as a tax manager for Lindquist & Co. in northern California. She is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Professor Shain really enjoys teaching and getting to know her students, and in her spare time she enjoys reading, movies, travel, taking walks, and spending time with her husband and two children.
