Taking the Placement Tests
Prepare for the
Math Placement Test and the
English Placement Test. This is EXTREMELY important to do BEFORE taking the Placement Tests!
Make your appointment for the Placement Tests with the Assessment Center. Placement Testing is offered throughout the semester. Learn more about

Take the Placement Tests for English and Math
Once you've taken the Placement Tests, you can meet with a counselor to develop an Education Plan for the Online Pathway.

Preparing for the Math Placement Tests
Identify your Math Placement Test Level using the
Math Decision Chart.
Take our sample test to help determine your Math Placement Level.
Register for
MyMathTest using these instructions. MyMathTest is a dynamic, interactive testing program to help you study and prepare for your Placement Test.
Use the appropriate study guide below as provided by the Assessment Center. Study the examples, solve the problems, and check your answers. If you need help, ask a math teacher or another person who understands the topic.
Preparing for the English Placement Tests
If you are a native speaker of English, have studied English and/or ESL in school for at least 7 years or use English frequently on a daily basis, take the CTEP Test. Otherwise, take the TELD test.
To prepare for the English Placement Tests, review the following sample questions provided by the Assessment Center.
Do not waste your time taking more courses than necessary. STUDY UP & PREPARE for your placement exams!
