The Rancho Santiago
Community College District is approved by the California Office of
Private Postsecondary Education for the training of veterans and
eligible dependents. Educational and vocational opportunities are
available for college credit.
Opportunities include associate degrees, certificates programs, and
transfer programs to a four year institution.
Counseling is available for day and evening students to
assist in achieving your educational goals, as well as personal and
family guidance.
The Veterans Affairs
Office assists veterans and dependents eligible to receive educational
benefits. This office provides support by assisting eligible students in
completing appropriate applications. The VA office generally acts as a
liaison between the veteran and eligible dependent and the college as
well as government agencies.

Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter
33) News:
-
For the latest Post 9/11 Bill (Chapter 33)
information, please refer to the
GI Bill website.
-
Since this bill is fairly new and updates are
constantly being applied in its processing, we highly encourage Veterans
and Active Duty who are eligible for this bill to call the GI Bill
directly at 1 (888) 442-4551 to determine if opting into this bill
would be more beneficial for them or not. Once a student opts
into Chapter 33, they will not be able to revert to their previous
chapter of benefits.
-
This bill does not take effect until August
1st, 2009. Eligible students who are new or have used VA
benefits before will have to fill out a
new
application for this Chapter besides all the other forms the
SAC VA Office requires. See
Procedures for VA Education Benefits.

GET YOUR $20/unit fees waived! Even
though the VA will pay for your fees, don't risk getting your
classes dropped from non-payment. Please fill out the Board of
Governor's Fee Waiver Application. If you qualify, you won't
have to worry about your Fall 2009 registered classes being dropped
as long as you pay for the remaining fees. Because the program
is new, as of 06/22/09, RSCCD has not yet determined a way for the
VA to send funds for the fees. Filling out a
Fee Waiver or a FAFSA
application for 2009-2010 can ensure that the unit fees be
waived, if eligible. You will still need to pay for the
remaining fees (Such as parking, material fees, health fee, student
ID fee).
