About Us
The Upward Bound Program, a
federally funded TRIO program is an intense college prep program for 70
high school students. The program services two high schools in the Santa
Ana Unified School District: Santa Ana, Saddleback, and Santa Ana Valley High Schools.
Students in the Upward Bound Program must meet certain guidelines to
participate, such as being a first-generation college student and meeting
income guidelines set by the Department of Education. The following
services and activities are set for all Upward Bound students during the
Academic and Summer components.

Purpose of the
Upward Bound Program

To inspire
and instruct students in specific academic areas of
Math, English, Science and Foreign Language.

Provide
students a unique university residential experience at
Chapman University.

To
encourage students to pursue a college education.

To provide
participants personalized college preparation through
personal counseling, academic advising and tutorial
assistance.

Expose
participants to cultural enrichment events.

Provide
university/college entrance advisement.

Provide
career related paid work experience.
