Cooperative
Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) Program |

The CARE program provides
services to single parent students who are EOPS eligible and are receiving
cash aid/public assistance (CalWORKS - Cash-Aid) which are
"Over and Above" what can be received elsewhere on
campus. The goal is to provide these services to those cash aid
recipients who are full time students and to assist them in developing the
skills and opportunities to become economically self-sufficient.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for CARE you must be
- eligible for EOPS
- be eligible for CalWORKS or currently receiving cash aid from
social services
- be single, head of household
- be at least 18 years old
- have at least one child under
14 at the time of enrollment
Services Provided
As a CARE student, you will receive:
- extensive specialized counseling
- early scheduling assistance
- priority registration
- special orientations and semester
readiness activities
- semester workshops & seminars
- parenting information and referrals if
needed
- special activities such as a
"Mother's Day luncheon/seminar" and "Winter Holiday
Celebration"
- the opportunity to attend special CARE
student activities and conferences
