The district participates
in E.O.P.S. to assist students in overcoming obstacles attributable to
college-level educational deficiencies, socioeconomic disadvantages, and
cultural differences.
E.O.P.S. is a state funded program which
provides support services for full time students that are educationally
and financially disadvantaged. Eligible students are provided counseling,
tutorial services, books, Financial Aid and Scholarship Workshops, and
academic retention workshops to foster success in meeting educational
goals.
The CARE program is available to E.O.P.S.
students who are single parents currently receiving cash aid with children under the age of 14. The
program extends additional support and financial services to those that
meet all state requirements. Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, a student
MUST:

Be a California resident
-
Be enrolled as a
full-time student, 12 units or more (participants identified as DSPS
(Disabled Student Program and Services) are exempt from full
time status)

Have fewer than 70 units
of degree applicable credits

Qualify to receive the
California Board of Governor's Waiver (BOGW)
-
Be educationally
disadvantaged as defined by EOPS state regulations
