The
Psychological Disabilities Program is
designed to assist and support students with psychological and emotional
disorders to be successful in an educational setting.
The goal of the
Psychological Disabilities Program is to support students with psychological
disabilities in their educational or vocational pursuits. We provide
support services necessary to assist students such as advocating, and
providing reasonable accommodations for functional limitations and
academic limitations. Students who are admitted to the program must meet
with a program professional at least once per semester to review their
progress, accommodations and academic goals. Participation in the program
is voluntary, however it is highly recommended.
We do not
provide mental health counseling/therapy. Therefore our services are not
meant to be utilized in lieu of therapy. Nevertheless, referrals to a
mental health provider in the community can be provided.
Psychological Disability services are confidential.
All disability related information including diagnosis, medical
documentation, educational correspondence and accommodations are
confidential. No information may be released to anyone without the
student’s consent except in cases of child/elder abuse, presence of a threat
to harm oneself or others, or other instances mandated by law.
