Our Child Development Centers are accredited
with the
National Association of the Education of Young Children.
QUALITY CARE: The
Rancho Santiago Community College District child development centers are
licensed and have been funded by the State Department of Education for
more than 20 years. Child care services include materials, activities,
snacks and lunches (not all centers).
The district has
four affiliated locations that serve the Orange and Santa Ana Communities.
All of the centers follow the same basic guidelines.
STAFFING: Each
class is supervised by a Head Teacher who holds a degree and a California
State Child Development Permit at the Master Teacher level. In addition to
the Head Teacher the classrooms may be staffed with a combination of
Teachers, Interns, Student Assistants, Student Teachers, and/or
Volunteers.
ENVIRONMENT:
In our centers, children
always come first - before planned curriculum, before rules and before
adult convenience. We provide a flexible environment so children
have a great amount of control over their own activities. This encourages
learning because play is the child's most valuable learning tool.
It helps them to learn self awareness and problem solving. The centers represent a
wide range of economic levels and ethnic backgrounds. We believe this
helps children learn to value differences.
LOCATIONS: For
locations, directions, phone numbers and ages served by each of the four
centers, please choose a site from those listed on the left.
