Student Support ServicesExtended Opportunity Program & Services

EOPS/CARE

Extended Opportunity Program & Services (EOPS) is a state funded program which provides support services for full-time students that are educationally and financially disadvantaged.  Eligible students are provided counseling, tutorial services, book vouchers, Pre-Career Work Experience Program, Financial Aid and Scholarship Workshops, and academic retention workshops to foster success in meeting educational goals.

Assessment
Assessment services available to CalWORKs participants include language and math placement tests.

Disabled Student Programs and Services
The Center for Disabled Students provides special assistance to facilitate disabled students in normal achievement.  Services include but are not limited to instructional equipment and wheelchair loans; academic and vocational advisement; special parking; gate/elevator passes; tutoring, note taking, test taking assistance; priority  registration and registration assistance.

Psychological Services
Psychologists and psychological interns are available by appointment and walk-in consultations.  There is a $5.00 refundable security deposit for a psychological appointment.  Services include crisis intervention, help with stressful family-life situations, emotional support, and referrals.

Health Center
A registered nurse is always available to provide medical and nursing services such as birth control information, urgent care, first-aid, acute illness, health screenings, and other such information.  There is a minimal fee for certain lab tests, procedures, and supplies.

Tutoring
The Tutorial Learning Centers offer free tutoring to students taking courses through RSCCD.  Both one-to-one and small group tutorials are available.

Career Center
The Career Centers are a resource service designed to assist individuals in making decisions about their personal and career options.  These services address the needs of people who are in career transition and people who wish to confirm an already chosen field.  Individuals are assisted through a variety of delivery modes, including classes, workshops, seminars, and individual appointments.
