Course Description: An in-depth examination of the process of developing close and intimate relationships leading to committed partnerships and marriages with emphasis on making good choices, utilizing effective communication techniques, understanding love and relationship dynamics, parenting, the retirement years and a review of family stressors including: finances, abusive relationships, separation, divorce, remarriages, and blended families.

COURSE MATERIAL

1. Textbooks:

(A)  Marriage & Families:  Changes, Choices, and Constraints, 6th ed., by Nijole V. Benokraitis, Prentice Hall Publishers, (ISBN #0-13-243173-4).

(B)  Our Families Ourselves course study guide by Intelecom (ISBN #1-58370-080-3).

 2.DVD’S for the eighteen telelessons as outlined in the Telecourse Study Guide.

BROADCAST SCHEDULE

This telecourse does not air on T.V.  You have the option of Purchasing the DVD’s at the bookstore OR watching the telelessons in the libraries or checking them out of the libraries at no charge.

Wednesday, Sept. 9, 6:00-7:00 p.m. in D-101  OR                                            Saturday, Sept. 12, 10:00-11:00 a.m. in D-101                                                            All on-campus meetings will take place at Santa Ana College

Drop for non-payment

Enrollment fees must be paid IN FULL within three business days of registration or you will be dropped for non-payment. The date that you register counts as the first business day.

Student Responsibility to drop classes

Students who cannot continue in a course have an obligation to withdraw officially through the Admissions and Records Office.  You can contact the Admissions Office to confirm withdrawal dates or check the Section Information area in WebAdvisor for your individual course(s).
