UTC / Partnership for Transfer Success Program (PTS)

The SAC University Transfer Center was awarded this three-year grant to support one cohort of students. The cohort will start in Fall 2011 and receive support from the program through Summer 2013. It is expected that a total of 40 students will benefit directly from the program’s services, while a broader student population will benefit from the project overall.

The PTS Program II is designed to increase diversity and improve the preparation of students entering USDA related careers. The project builds on collaborations with California Polytechnic University, Pomona, Santa Ana Unified School District, and USDA related agencies. The scope of this project is far-reaching, creating a pipeline into USDA related majors beginning with outreach to high school students, retention strategies and experiential learning opportunities for community college students, and networking opportunities for university students.
