Adding & Dropping a Class

When you submit your application to Santa Ana College, you will be provided with a registration appointment date and time. It is your responsibility to add and drop your own classes. You can add & drop classes online or over the phone. Please refer to the "how do I register" link above for detailed information on each method.

ADDING a full class:

Option 1 – WAIT LIST

You must meet the co requisites or prerequisites of the course.

Place your name on the wait list for ONE class section. You will receive a priority number for your position on the list.

YOU MUST ATTEND THE FIRST CLASS MEETING to see if there is available space.

If the instructor permits additional students, the instructor will use the wait list to add additional students to the class.

Option 2 – PETITION

Show up on the first and/or second class meeting to see if there is available space.
If there is space, you can request the instructor to add you to the class.

Dropping a class:

  • It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to drop classes that you enroll in and do not attend or choose not to complete!

  • You can drop classes by telephone or with a drop form at Admissions & Records

  • You do NOT need an instructor's signature or permission to drop a class.

  • Two drop deadlines:

  • Last day to drop with enrollment refund

  • Last day to drop with "W"

IF YOU DO NOT DROP A COURSE YOU STOPPED

ATTENDING, YOU WILL GET AN "F".
