WELCOME BACK!!
The staff of the International Student Center takes this opportunity to
welcome all new and continuing students to the start of another exciting
semester. As you are
probably aware, many new developments occurred during the winter break
that impacts the financial budgets of all California schools, colleges
and universities. Because
of California’s current budget crisis, college officials have been
asked to slash their operating budgets, which in turn have a direct
affect on the number of classes offered and services provided.
However, our District is taking all
measures to lessen the severity of the cuts in classes, faculty and
personnel at our colleges. As
a student, you can become proactive in several ways.
1) Be prepared to register for classes on your priority
registration date. 2) If a class is cancelled, act immediately to enroll
in another class. If other
full semester classes are not available, consider mini-semester classes.
3) Work closely with the International Student Counselors on your
course selection and overall education plan.
4) Contact the International Program staff right away for any
additional assistance.
REFUNDS
There are still a number of Student Insurance Refund Checks on hold for
students enrolled with Student Insurance during the Spring 2002. Call or
come to the International Student Center to see whether your name is on
the list. Ask for Phuong.
