Climate
Taiwan's
climate is subtropical. Moderate temperatures are typical in the
north, where the winters, from December through February, are short and
mild; snow falls only on the island's higher mountains. The southern
areas, where temperatures are slightly higher, enjoy sunshine every day,
and there is no winter season. The typhoon season is from June to
October.
Average
annual temperatures 21C (71F) in the north and 24C (75F) in the south; summers last from May through September. The rainy season is in
May and June. Rainfall varies greatly according to season, location,
and altitude; the average rainfall is about 2,515 mm per year.
Required
Clothing
The weather
is usually hot and humid, bring several changes of clothes. Light
to medium weight clothing with rainwear advised. Don't forget your
umbrella.
