A change has taken place in the
OTA program curriculum effective in the fall semester of 2011. Psych
140, Psychology of Adulthood and Aging, and Psych 157, Intro to Child
Psychology or HUD 107, Child Growth and Development, will no longer be a
part of the core classes for the OTA program. They will be replaced by
an OTA class titled Human Occupation Across Lifespan. This change was
made in response to a suggestion at our onsite ACOTE accreditation visit
April 2010.
I want to let you know about
this change because in the past students have been advised that Psych
140, Psych 157 or HUD 107 are classes that can be taken while on the
wait list for the OTA program. If you have taken both of the
courses any time
prior to the spring 2011 they will be accepted. However, they will not
be accepted as a core class if taken spring 2011 or later. This change
will only affect students starting the program in fall 2011 or later.
Psych 250, Abnormal Psychology is the only core course that can be
completed while on the wait list. There is no change in the 4
prerequisite classes to get into the program. Please contact our
office with any questions.
