Speech Communications Prerequisite

Before beginning externship, each student must complete the Speech Communications prerequisite.

If English is your native language, you must successfully complete:

• Speech Communications 101:  Introduction to Interpersonal Communications

If English is your second language, you must successfully complete:

•   Speech Communications 097:  Conversational English

(To develop communications skills, non-native speakers are strongly encouraged to complete Speech Communications 101 also.)

Speech Communications courses can be taken at SAC or at another community college.   If you take the courses elsewhere, get a copy of your transcript and a catalog description of the course from the other college.
