The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is designed at
the 10th to 12th grade levels. It tests English, reading, math, and science.
-
The SAC Nursing Department will contact prospective
students regarding when it is time to take the
test. This usually occurs the semester before the students are to come into the
program.
-
The student must achieve a composite score of
at least 62% on the current version of the TEAS (TEAS V)
in order to pass the test. Per the state chancellor's office's guidelines,
previous versions of the TEAS test will not be accepted.
-
Students passing the TEAS test will enter the Nursing
Program on a space-available basis.
-
If a student does not pass on
the first attempt, then remediation is required. An individualized remediation
plan will be created for the student with a counselor. After remediation has
been completed and confirmed by the counselor, the student will be required to
re-test.
-
If the student
passes the re-test, entry into the Nursing Program will occur as space is
available.
-
If the student
does not pass the re-test, the student's name will be removed from the entry
list.
-
If a student has already
successfully completed the TEAS test, official transcripts from ATI Testing are
required. To request official transcripts to be sent to Santa Ana College, the
student should contact ATI at
www.atitesting.com.
-
There is
no recency requirement for the TEAS test.
