Art Degree (SAC 0304)
The associate degree curriculum in art provides students with
an opportunity for individual creative stimulus and development. Completion of
the associate in arts degree also prepares students to move into a curriculum
at a four-year institution leading to a baccalaureate degree or into a
professional art school. Possible careers in fine arts are art education,
interior design, gallery operation, art merchandising, studio artist,
illustration, art criticism, computer graphics and animation and related
fields.

Crafts Option Certificate
The certificate program in crafts combines fundamental fine
arts courses with those courses providing the aesthetic, technical knowledge
and special skills necessary to design and produce hand crafted objects.
Whether the interest is in exhibiting crafts as an art form or producing work
with more commercial applications, the program provides for study in two areas,
jewelry/crafts and glass/crafts. This program is primarily designed to prepare
art students as freelance artists/craftsmen.
