Michael Van Patten

Michael Van Patten has been on the teaching staff at DeFore Dance Center since 1988, and has been dancing at the studio since 1985. He has also taught at the University of California, Irvine, University of Northern Colorado, Tremaine Dance Center, Synthesis Dance Center, Orange County High School of the Arts, Fine Arts Academy of Dance, and currently coaches the national award winning dance team at Aliso Niguel High School.  Mr. Van Patten's professional credits include Star Search, Los Angeles Opera Company, Disney's Motor Car Mania/Bon Voyage revue at the Queen Mary/Spruce Goose complex, many dinner theater and civic light opera productions, and appearances with numerous Southern California dance companies.  His students have appeared in movies, videos, television, Laker Girls, Clipper Girls, and Las Vegas revues. His choreography has won national titles for Aliso Niguel High School, and Fine Arts Academy of Dance. In addition to his career as a dancer and choreographer, Mr. Van Patten has a B.A. in English from UCLA.
