The Santa Ana Civic
Leadership Initiative is a program designed to develop
community-based leadership and broaden and strengthen existing
communities by building stronger, more diverse leaders. Formerly known
as the Pew Civic Entrepreneur Initiative, SACLI now enjoys a
"permanent home" at Santa Ana College.
SACLI equips Santa Ana residents to
play a greater role in decision-making in their communities. SACLI is a
year-long leadership experience which consists of monthly seminars that
are hosted at various sites throughout the community, city government,
school districts, and community based organizations.
Participants design and implement a
project that addresses a local community need. Individuals selected to
participate commit to a full year of involvement and are nominated by a
local organization.
