Santa Ana Zoo
1801 Chestnut, Santa Ana
Observe over 90 species of animals. Ride the Zoofari Express and elephants on weekends. Open daily from 10am to 4 pm during the summer. Free admission on the Second Tuesday of each month for Santa Ana residents.
Adults (age 13+): $8.00
Seniors (age 60+) and Children (age 3-12): $5.00

Orange County Zoo
1 Irvine Park Road, Orange
Located in Santiago Canyon inside of the Irvine Regional Park, the OC Zoo offers 90 minute group tours. Although tours are not available on Sundays and Mondays, the park is open to the public from 10 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 4:30 pm on weekends.

Discovery Science Center

See a giant dinosaur, a delta rocket and 120 hands-on exhibits. Grade level specific programs available.

Environmental Nature Center
1601 Sixteenth Street, Newport Beach
Educational "habitat" for studying California's natural resources and wild places.
Many hands-on programs, including Nature Changes, Eco-Explorers, Nature Scene Investigators, Earth Connections, etc.
Programs for Scouts. Plus a summer nature camp. All sorts of exciting programs for all ages, including kindergarteners.
Prices and schedules vary with programs.

Explore art and cultural activities at the Bowers Museum.
The Kidseum encourages imagination and creativity. Programs for K through 12. Excellent programs for K to 3 in particular.

Starr Ranch Sanctuary
100 Bell Canyon Road, Trabuco Canyon
Starr Ranch Sanctuary is a 4,000 acre preserve that is operated by the National Audubon Society. It is located between Rancho Santa Margarita and San Juan Capistrano. Reserved tours only; make sure you call first. The Ranch offers ecology, biology and nature workshops for students.

Irvine Wilderness Ranch
Many events, trails and programs are available at this immense 40,000 acre wilderness area.

La Habra Children's Museum
The Children's Museum at La Habra was one of the first children's museum to open on the west coast. Dinosaurs, a 1942 caboose and lots of fun, hands-on exhibits.
Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
$7.00 per person ($6 dollars for La Habra residents).
90 minute guided tours.
Reservations are required for groups of 15 or more, and must be made at least two weeks in advance.
