Academic Computing Center

Computer with internet access is available to students in the Academic Computing Center, located in the Cesar Chavez Building (A-106), and the SAC Neally Library (L-103).

Bookstore

 All required textbooks and most other course materials are available through the Santa Ana College Don Bookstore.

Counseling

Students can contact an online counselor at the Online Counseling site and schedule appointments. 

Financial Aid

Online and hybrid courses are just like any other course offered at Santa Ana College.  Students follow the same eligibility as determined by the Financial Aid Office.  Students must also abide by regular attendance and participation guidelines of the college and course instructor in online/hybrid courses. 

Forms are available on-line.  Completed forms can be dropped off in-person or mailed directly to the Financial Aid Office:

Financial Aid status verification and award acceptance is done through Web Advisor.  Checks are mailed to all students.  For individual assistance, Distance Education students should Email the Financial Aid Office at financial_aid@sac.edu

Library electronic resources are available via Neally Library Remote Access.

Math Center

The Math Center is located in L-204 (2nd floor of the Library)
Math Center Hours*:
          Monday - Thursday: 9:00 am - 7:50 pm
          Friday:  10:00 am - 12:50 pm
          Saturday:  12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

To receive Math Center assistance, online and hybrid math students should:
          * Call the Math Center at (714) 564-6678 
          * Press 5 for Online Student Assistance
          * A math tutor will ask you to provide your name, Web Advisor ID, Math course, and Instructor name.
          * The Math Center will assign a tutor when one becomes available, as is the case when students walk
             into the Math Center.

The Learning Center

Directed Learning Activity (DLA)
If an instructor assigns a DLA(s) in the course, students will need to complete the DLA in the Learning Center and complete the following steps:
          * Email the Learning Center at LearningCenter@sac.edu with DLA number
          * The Learning Center will send an Email with the DLA attached
          * Email the completed DLA back to the Learning Center at LearningCenter@sac.edu
          * A Learning Center Instructor will review the submitted DLA, and will provide feedback via Email
          * The completed DLA work will be kept in a file at the Learning Center for the course Instructor

Tutoring is available for the same subjects for both classroom (traditional) and online/hybrid courses.

Tutoring is available at the Learning Center for the following subjects on a drop-in or walk-in basis:
          *All Communication Studies courses
          * All Foreign Language courses
          * All English, Reading, and EMLS courses
          * Writing for any topic / class

Tutoring for Online Students:
Tutoring Requests:  Contact the Learning Center by phone at (714) 564-6569 or by Email at LearningCenter@sac.edu.  Provide the subject and course for the tutoring request.  A Learning Center Tutor will arrange a call back time for phone tutoring.
Writing Tutoring: Complete the  Learning Center Conferencing Intake and Evaluation Form.  Email the completed form to the Learning Center at LearningCenter@sac.edu

Wireless Network Access

Santa Ana College offers free wireless access to the Internet to currently enrolled students.  The wireless network is compatible with all mobile devices and laptops with Wi-Fi capabilities.  More information can be found on the wireless access on the website (http://sac.edu/AboutSAC/wireless/Pages/default.aspx), including a map of the wireless coverage, and detailed instructions.

Please note that each instructor may have rules for wireless and device use in class.  Check with the instructor for their policy.  Wireless access is a privilege SAC provides to current students.  Appropriate use of computers on campus is defined by Board of Trustees Policy BP7000 and Administrative Regulation AR7000.  Click the previous links to view the policies and regulations governing student use of computer resources, including wireless access to the Internet. 

To connect to the wireless network:
1.  Ensure that location is included within the wireless coverage area. 
2.  Detect the available wireless networks, and select SAC-Student.
3.  When prompted, enter your Web Advisor User ID and password. 
4.  If a certificate error is received, click "Accept" or "Continue" to connect to the wireless network.
